I have long followed the dialogue of this group and feel a great attraction to communicating with othersinterested in the Carthusians.  I lived with the Carmelites for nine years, three of them in vows.  Recently I have returned as a lay Carmelite.  I am also interested in zen as a contemplative vehicle.  I study and practice zen with others.  One of my teachers is a zen priest and another is a benedictine nun in Erie,Pa. who conducts contemplative retreats following soto zen.  I find  the Carthusian novice series deeply affecting.   I would deem it a pleasure to be listed among  your members   my address is lobuew@gilmour.org   thanks you   Wayne
