>Thanks for the opportunity to be on the list.  I am a 66 year old Jesuit priest who struggled with the thought of joining the Carthusians since I was about 15.  I joined the Jesuits at 17 and spent many of my annual retreats praying about joining the Carthusians.  As you probably know,  Jesuits may join either the Carthusians or the Trappists and then return to the Jesuits if  the new vocation proves to be illusory.

I presently teach only one course at the University (St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA) and am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice.)

I have never been in a Carthusian monastery and knew of them only through some of the writings of  Dom Verner Moore.
